Brendan J. Greene practices real estate law, estate planning, estate administration, business law, and tax planning and elder law. He is licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Brendan’s real estate practice includes representing buyers and sellers in residential and commercial purchases and sale transactions, lenders in residential and commercial financing transactions, landlords (including a real estate investment trust), tenants, developers in all aspects of real estate, including condominium conversions. He also has expertise in the taxation of real estate including structuring, planning and acting as a Qualified Intermediary for Internal Revenue Code §1031 Exchanges.
His estate planning practice includes a wide range of estate planning from basic estate plans to more sophisticated techniques such as valuation discounts using family limited partnerships and leveraged gifting. He also advises and works closely with clients, their accountants and financial advisers to optimize tax strategies.
Mr. Greene also has extensive experience represented individuals and closely held companies in various tax planning matters, including estate and business succession planning, asset protection planning. He also advises individuals and businesses on choice of entity issues from a tax perspective.
Mr. Greene advises and assists the elderly and their families in preserving assets, including their home, from Medicaid liens through various planning techniques.
